Where to Eat in Portland, Maine
Save this for your next trip to Portland, Maine—here’s your dining guide
Start Your Day at Ugly Duckling
This quirky little spot is our new go-to for coffee, breakfast, and sandwiches. Everything is made in-house (yes, everything), including their dreamy English muffins that are almost too good to be real. Ugly Duckling has so much character and every bite tasted freshly made with care.
Blueberry Pie at Two Fat Cats Bakery
If you’re in Maine and don’t get a slice of blueberry pie, did you even go? Two Fat Cats Bakery delivered the ultimate version: rich, gooey, and exactly what you'd imagine in your pie fantasies. Don’t leave without grabbing a slice (or two).
New in Town: Lil Chippy
We love discovering something fresh and exciting, and Lil Chippy totally delivered. Their fish and chips are golden and crispy, with the added bonus of a gluten-free options throughout the whole menu (celiac safe). But what really stood out? Their “buddies”—a creative take on sandwiches that pack a punch of flavor.
Turn Up the Heat at Crispy Gai
For bold, fiery Southeast Asian street food, Crispy Gai was one of our favorite finds. While they’re known for their wings (trust us—they live up to the hype), we were equally obsessed with the Crispy Waterfall Salad and Pad See Ew. If you like your food with heat and heart, don’t miss this spot.
Drinks with a View at Top of the East
Sometimes you just want a cocktail and a view—and Top of the East has both in spades. Nearly 360-degree city views paired with expertly made drinks made this the perfect place to toast to our Portland adventure.
End the Night at Lucky Cheetah
This underground lounge is moody, chic, and full of unexpected charm. Whether you’re stopping in for dumplings, or going all out with champagne and caviar, Lucky Cheetah nails the vibe for a stylish, indulgent evening.
